Queen of Tears Filming Locations: Seoul Spots + a Mungyeong Day Trip
Queen of Tears left a trail of visitable places in Seoul and in Mungyeong (Gyeongsangbuk-do). Mungyeong is not a Seoul neighborhood—treat it as a separate day trip or overnight from Seoul (KTX-Eum via Pangyo is the usual rail pattern). Overseas episodes (e.g. Germany) and Busan are out of scope here.

Daekyung Ilbo (2024-05-01) reported the on-site “Yongdu-ri supermarket” set was gone after filming, with a container left on the private lot. - Eco World “Yongdu-ri supermarket” exhibition / photo zone — Separate from the demolished Yongyeon-ri set. Regional press (e.g. Kyongbuk Ilbo, 2025-05-14) describes a themed exhibition facility at Eco World as permanently operating—confirm on-site hours before you go. This is a recreation/exhibit, not the original village set.

Central Inland Line (중부내륙선) KTX-Eum extended Chungju–Mungyeong from 2024-11-30, with service patterned from Pangyo → Mungyeong in about 90 minutes, 8 round trips per day at opening (Yonhap coverage of the MOLIT opening). Korail’s business-intro timeline lists 2024.11.30 중부내륙선(충주∼문경) 개통. Buy and verify same-day trains on Korail (letskorail.com) or KorailTalk—do not rely on third-party timetable blogs alone.

Mungyeong Station → Gurang-ri / Eco World
Not walkable. mapCheck (2026-09-23) places Gurang-ri Railbike and Eco World well outside pedestrian range of Mungyeong Station (road routing on the order of ~15–25 km / ~20–30 min depending on destination; Gurang-ri ↔ Eco World is much closer to each other).
Taxi budget (estimate, not an official fare quote): budget roughly ₩15,000–₩30,000 one-way per leg as a planning cushion (base fare, distance, traffic, late-night surcharge, and waiting time all vary). Check Kakao T / Naver Map taxi estimate on the day, or ask the station taxi stand.

Is Mungyeong doable from Seoul in one day?
Yes for many travelers via Pangyo KTX-Eum (~90 min each way at opening pattern), but it is a full day—railbike reservations, park hours, and limited daily train pairs matter. Overnight is easier if you want both Gurang-ri and Eco World without rushing.
How do I go Seoul → Mungyeong?
Take the subway/Sinbundang connection to Pangyo, then KTX-Eum on the Central Inland Line to Mungyeong. Confirm times and fares on Korail before travel (letskorail.com).
Can I still visit the Yongdu-ri supermarket?
The original Yongyeon-ri temporary set was removed after filming (Daekyung Ilbo, 2024-05-01). Eco World later operates a themed “Yongdu-ri supermarket” exhibition / photo facility (regional press, 2025)—treat that as a park exhibit and verify it is open on your visit date.
Is The Hyundai Seoul open to the public?
Yes—it is a working department store. Drama-related corners (e.g. Sounds Forest) follow mall rules and seasonal setups.
What about the Stone Art Museum?
It appears on Seoul’s Soul Spot list for Queen of Tears, but this guide marks it reported as until a second independent origin is documented. Visit as a museum; check hours on the venue site.
